What? An important person in Martinsville? It can’t be true, can it?

So all day today the local news and tv stations have been a buzz because none other than Presidential hopeful, Senator Barack Obama made a stop in little ol’ Martinsville, and turned a nations attention on a small town, atleast for a day. I guess I feel good on the inside that he took the time to stop by. I’m 24 years old and I have never known anyone important to willingly come around this way, even our governors. Sure we did have some stop by for this and that, but he seemed to take a geniune interest in the area and the things that were going on. He also opened my eyes to a lot of things going on in the United States. For some reason I always thought that the situation with the local economy and the lack of jobs here, was just our problem I never took the time to learn that this epidemic is nationwide. My eyes were opened atleast in that sense, everyone is struggling right now and it is time for a change, I just hope that the change does really come.
